1.Research the impact of Hurricane Katrina on gasoline prices. Why did it cause an increase in gas prices? What are some problems that this increase may cause? What are some things that are being done to control costs?
Type your answers here….because new orleans is a major port in bringing in gas and the damages in the gulf of mexico didn’t help any.increase in gas prices will eventually cause inflation on most everything.president bush opened up some of our countries oil reserves to help with the prices of gasoline.
2.Research current gasoline prices across the country. Write a summary on why some states or areas have higher gasoline prices than others. Think about the area's location and population, does that affect their gasoline prices? Include current prices in your explanation.Type your answers here….3.o5 is our national gas average,but around charlottesvillle most gasoline distributors are selling at 3.30 a gallon.the reason is we need more gas b/c of our population and the effects of katrina also helped in our gas raise by cutting off how we get most of our gas
3.Describe the changes in gasoline prices in the last fifty years. Type your answers here….if you take into effect all of the inflation that has occurred in the past 50 years gas has not changed that much,but if you look at it the other way we’ve had three major gas price increases-currently, around WWII,and in 1973 when war broke out between isreal and arab nations.
4.Compare gas prices around the world. Do certain regions have lower prices than others? Which countries have the highest prices and which have the lowest? How does the current prices in the United States compare to the rest of the world? Type your answers here….some countries have their own oil and can produce their own so they don’t have to pay that much-the more oil your country produces-the more likely your gas will be cheaper.The UK is charging 5.64 which is the highest and the lowest is in venezuela.The United States is in the middle as far as gas prices are concerned.
